Despite the fact that is is one extremely cheap 55″ TV, it offers most of the things a much more expensive one would and for regular users it’s perfect. Created by Sony, the XBR55X810C model offers automatic 4K Ultra HD upscaling, so everything you watch – sports, TV shows, movies – looks a lot better (four times better than regular HD, actually). The upscaling features are the same of any other Sony TV, so you’re getting the full value here and the increased quality of the image is noticeable, so you will really get better looking picture even when watching older DVDs or SD channels – this is a big bonus in my books!
Another great thing about this TV from Sony is the impressive refresh rate. It uses the Motionflow XR 960 technology, allowing refresh rates of 120Hz. In other words, motion blur is almost not there and you can watch fast action movie scenes or sports channels without any problems – this being another of its very strong selling points!
As smaller inconveniences, we’ll have the fact that its viewing angles are not amazing, meaning that if you watch from a very narrow angle, the colors will lose intensity a little bit (but let’s face it – you will rarely have to watch from such a tight angle anyways!) Also, the sound quality isn’t the best, especially the bass levels. But again, for regular usage and for those that aren’t extremely demanding, these problems can be considered minor and no real deal breakers.
All in all, the Sony XBR55X810C is a great TV: it has crystal-clear images and the 4K upscaling is amazing, it has Smart functions that allow you to access anything Google Play-related, it is large and even though a bit bulky, it offers amazing value for money. A great choice every night and day!
I am a big fan of LG products and they have been my first choice for TVs and computer monitors over the years and I’ve never been disappointed. The 55UH7700 model won’t break the tradition and if you get it, you will surely be extremely pleased with it. We’re talking about a 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV, an updated 2016 model that offers impressive refresh rates of 240Hz, meaning that it won’t tire your eyes as much as older TVs and also the motion blur will be virtually nonexistent.
The picture quality of this model is absolutely breathtaking and they don’t fade as much as on other models when viewing from an angle. I also like the fact that it can be paired with your Android smartphone using the LG TV Plus app, allowing you to wirelessly display photos, videos and apps from your smartphone on the big screen – a really nice feature indeed! The sound quality is also very good!
If we want to look for downsides, I would say that sometimes the black balance is not optimal – but without really breaking the image – and their OS has the habit of freezing and hanging every now and then, requiring a restart of the TV. You might not even notice these, depending on how you use it, so I would not consider these problems deal breakers: we’re actually talking about a really good product here, one that I’ve been using without any real reasons to complain so far. Yes, I am a fan of LG products and this 4K smart TV could turn you into one as well!
At the moment of writing this article, this is a brand new and absolutely amazing product from LG, ranking first on Amazon’s New Released in the OLED TV category. This means that this is indeed a high quality product that people love – so do those who have tried it and reviewed it, as well as those who own it. It’s a bit more expensive than the previous models listed here, but it’s totally worth it if you have the extra money to get it!
The quality of the images it delivers is absolutely mind-blowing! It has perfect Black Levels and it works flawlessly, especially in dark rooms (so it’s perfect for movies and TV shows!). Flicker-free motion is something it delivers, while motion blur is nonexistent at 120 Hz Refresh rate. The color accuracy remains great even at tighter angles and it performs really well even in bright rooms with minimal reflections.
If you have the extra money to spend on your purchase, you should invest them in the LG 55EF9500 without worries – this indeed ticks all boxes and you’ll be really satisfied with its performance and quality.
If you really want to go over the top and get a TV that will really stand out and impress everybody who will visit your home, the Samsung UN55KS9500 is the right choice. 55″ diagonal, 4K resolution, Smart TV, built in Wi-Fi and, the icing on the cake: a curved design!
The Samsung Curved 4K SUHD TV completely redefines the viewing experience with the revolutionary Quantum Dot nano-crystal technology. The KS9500 features innovations that produce a remarkable High Dynamic Range picture experience, regardless of room-light interference. I found it difficult to understand how or why a curved TV gives you a perfect viewing experience even from tight angles, but the thing is that it works and there’s nothing to complain about: the picture quality is amazing, the sound quality is just as good – which is exactly what you would expect from a flagship product manufactured by a renowned brand.
The only downside is really the price (expect it to be over $2,000) but if money is not a problem, then you have your winner. If not and you’re not on a really tight budget, the LG model above will be just as good. It’s all about the money in the end as they deliver very similar performances in my opinion, with the Samsung being slightly better indeed, but for a price!
