DIY: Best Homemade Exfoliating Face Scrubs with Fruits

When it comes to DIY face scrubs, there are tons of recipes out there – and the good thing is that most of them actually work! And in today’s article we’re going to find out which are the best homemade exfoliating face scrubs with fruits. Bonus: they’re easy to make too!

In most cases, as long as you don’t completely stay away from eating fruits, the ingredients will already be in your pantry. But even if they are not, it’s going to be very easy (and cheap) to get your hands on the required ingredients. They’re all natural, sweet and offer that scrubby-do that you need.

Probably the first rule we need to apply with these treatments is “TRY and don’t eat them!” You can lick your fingers or lips if by “mistake” you get them into the mix, but my advice is to make a separate smoothie, and leave these scrubs on your skin.

What I am trying to say is that everything you’ll read in today’s article is natural and safe, as long as you don’t have any allergies to the fruits used to prepare these scrubs. So with all these in mind, let’s find out which are the best DIY face scrubs to make at home with fruits!

(IF you are not much of a DIY fan, you can try out the Wild Ferns Bee Venom cream that I recommend).

Make sure you have all the ingredients before starting the recipe, or else you might forget all about it and start eating what you have on hand, before getting the ones you are missing.

Now, jokes aside, let’s check out below some amazing homemade face scrubs made with fruits – face scrubs that will make your skin healthier, clearer and help you feel and look flawless!

Papaya Mix Face Scrub #1

1 Papaya – ripe
50 g ground rice
50 g sea salt
50 g honey
100 g milk or curd

Mix these ingredients together, except for the milk/curd (you’ll use that to rub this mixture off, after 15 minutes).

Apply the scrub evenly and let it sit on your skin for around 15 minutes. It can be used on oily skin and your body too. Make sure you moisturize your face after using it.

Papaya Face Scrub #2

1 spoon papaya – raw
1/2 teaspoon almond powder – coarsely grounded
1/2 teaspoon orange peel powder – coarsely grounded
1/2 teaspoon barley powder – coarsely grounded

Mix all the ingredients together this time until you get a nice paste. That’s all you need to do – then you can start applying it right away.

If you have a loofah around, you can use it to put this mix on your face and scrub: it will help remove dead skin cells better.

This mix will give your face a nice glow and it will also help with blood circulation, to keep those cheeks pink and your tone fresh. And it smells absolutely amazing, too!

Papaya Face Scrub #3

1/2 cup Papaya – ripe
1/2 cup rice powder
1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice

Papaya is really good for your face and skin, as you can already see – but I promise it’s the last papaya-based DIY scrub that I am recommending.

This one is perfect for oily skin and really easy to prepare: just mix all the ingredients and blend them well in a paste that you then use immediately to massage the skin with. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before gently removing it.

Banana Mix Face Scrub #1

2 bananas – ripe & mashed
2 spoons oats – rolled
1 spoon honey
1 spoon milk

Mix this exfoliating scrub well and put it on your face to get a smooth and silky skin. If you don’t like the extra stickiness from the honey, you can skip it altogether. Make sure you keep the banana scrub on your face for around 15 minutes – rinse it with water afterwards (don’t eat it!)

Banana Mix Face Scrub #2

1 mashed banana
1 spoon honey
1 spoon lime juice

Mix these ingredients well until you have an even paste and apply the mix on your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with hot water.

The acidity of the lime help oily skin a lot and clears your pores. You can even taste it, but it’s best to let it do its job on your skin.

Strawberry Mix Face Scrub #1

5 strawberry – mashed
2 teaspoon lime juice

You can use any citrus juice, really, it’s the acidity that helps, and you can replace strawberries with blueberries as well.

Mix them well and smudge the resulting cream on your face and neck and let it sit for 20 minutes. You can wash it off with cold water afterwards, but warm water can also be used safely.

Strawberry Mix Face Scrub #2

1/4 cup fresh strawberries
1/4th cup sour cream/yogurt
(unsweetened)

Put all the ingredients in a blender until you get a thick, even mixture. Put the paste on your face, except eyes and lips and let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash it off.

This is good for oily skin, you’ll feel your face reinvigorated, and if used periodically, it could also fix dark circles around the eyes. All natural and nice

Strawberry Mix Face Scrub #3

6 Fresh strawberries
1 spoon honey
1 spoon brown sugar
1 spoon lime juice (or any other citric)

You’ll need to blend the ingredients together really well, until you get a paste you can apply on your face. After 10 minutes you can clean your face using a warm wet cloth or just plain water.

This mask will make your face glow, but not the oily glow some of us are used to. If you put it on every 3-4 days, you’ll get great results.

And this would be it – you have quite a few options of really good homemade scrubs that you can easily and quickly prepare at home to keep your skin healthy and fresh, looking as good as it can! Any of these scrubs will do wonders to your skin, so pick one that you like the most and enjoy!
